Human-Centered Technology and Project Management
At Mavisworks, we value people over technology. The reason why we have and need technology is for the betterment of humans. In this vein, we subscribe to the Agile Manifesto. In the Agile Manifesto, the instructional wording states that while there is value in some things, we value humans and business/technology working together (interactions) over processes and tools.
Given our experience with technology projects, Agile makes sense a lot of the time, but not always
A few things we’re great at
Building high-performing and collaborative teams…
Team-building is one of the most enjoyable tasks that we do. We are passionate about creating high-performing, collaborative teams, where people enjoy working and completing projects with a high level of quality.
Selecting the “right” approach to get work done…
Most organizations are hybrid, meaning that they use a combination of Agile and Waterfall to get work done. There should be no bad feelings about choosing one over of the other, or having a mix, based on the needs of each organization and project. The best path forward is to select the framework, or combination of frameworks, that supports the situation.
Balancing structure and flexibility…
We strive to find the right level of documentation v. agility based on the needs of each organization. We often use the term “structure” to indicate any level of formality. How much structure do we need to support both the execution and reporting/documentation needs of each organization? Each organization has a threshold after which “structure” is burdensome. We excel at finding the right fit for each organization.
